I had been a customer of Wendy’s News for 42 years, from the days when it was originally well managed by Wendy and her husband, long retired. When I contacted the current owner to report that magazines were missing from the weekend newspapers for three consecutive weeks the proprietor became belligerent, not considering it his responsibility to provide goods as paid for (indeed it is under the Sale Of Goods Act). He insisted that I must contact the newspaper companies directly(!), and subsequently refused to deliver any more newspapers. As a result, I am pursuing the matter with Trading Standards.
